Spinning Your Wheels in Recovery?

If you feel you are spinning your wheels in recovery, seemingly not getting anywhere, this is addressed to you.

A very large part of the problem often lies in lack of accountability.

In CIR we have an online recovery family. It is easier to let accountability slide because you do not have to look your CIR friends and family in the eye. They can not “see” you nor can they pick up on your body language or tone of voice when you are being less than truthful.

But you are not getting away with anything. As a matter of fact YOU are the one who suffers as a result of lack of accountability. YOUR recovery is not what it should be and you get stuck.

Perhaps you can fool some of your CIR family because there is a computer and monitor between you and them but there is nothing to separate you from God. He sees and knows precisely what is going on.

Without accountability there can be no recovery.

Read these words and repeat them out loud:

I am a Christian in recovery.

I am accountable to God,
I am accountable to others
and I am accountable to myself.

If you feel you are spinning your wheels in the muck of your addiction or dysfunction, now is the time to become accountable. Get some traction back into your recovery. Do something concrete to make yourself accountable.
