Men and Depression

Depression is a medical condition that affects the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way one eats and sleeps. It affects how one thinks about hings, and one’s self-perception. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition one can will or wish away. People with a depressive illness cannot merely “pull themselves together” and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. However, appropriate treatment, often involving medication and/or short-term psychotherapy, can help most people who suffer from depression.

Depression Information

Everyone occasionally feels blue or sad, but these feelings are usually fleeting and pass within a couple of days. When a person has a depressive disorder, it interferes with daily life, normal functioning, and causes pain for both the person with the disorder and those who care about him or her. Depression is a common but serious illness, and most who experience it need treatment to get better.

Steps to Peace with God

Step One
God’s Purpose: Peace and Life

Step 1

God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life–abundant and
eternal.

The Bible says…

“We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly.” John 10:10

Why don’t most people have this peace and abundant life that God planned
for us to have?
