GAD: Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Do you worry all of the time?

Do you worry about what may happen in the future? about bills? your health? your loved ones? what could happen?

Does worry consume your thoughts and life?

If this describes you, it is possible that you have generalized anxiety disorder, or GAD — a condition marked by a perpetual state of worry about most aspects of life. According to David Barlow, professor of psychology at Boston University, “the key psychological feature of GAD is a state of chronic, uncontrollable worry.” A little anxiety is normal, but constant worry is not.

Generalized anxiety disorder involves excessive anxiety and unrelenting worry. GAD makes it impossible to relax or lead a normal life.

Relapse Warning Signs and a Prevention Plan

Jeremiah 6:10
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

Relapse is a very scary word for men and woman in recovery. Relapse is not a condition that only addicts and alcoholics have to deal with. Some people relapse to overeating, gambling, unnecessary spending, inappropriate social behavior and other conditions that can be life threatening.

Marriage: Taking Responsibility For Your Actions

If you do something against your marriage, you need to take responsibility for your actions. Don’t say your spouse made you have an affair. How often do I hear, “I had an affair because my wife did”. Or, “I won’t have sex with him because he is controlling me.” “I want a divorce because my husband looks at pornography.” “My wife is an alcoholic and will never stop drinking, so I am having an affair, I deserve it.”

All of the above common marital situations can be rectified and you can both learn from these mistakes and grow into a more loving and giving marriage partner for each other.

How Should We Pray as a Couple?

Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This then is how you should pray:
Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed Be Your Name
Matthew 6:9 NIV

God is our loving Father and is not only majestic and holy, but also a personal and loving God. God is in Spirit everywhere and to all people all the time. When we become believers, we are making a personal commitment to honor His holy name in everything that we do. It is not our achievements but the workings of God in us.

Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Matthew 6:10 NIV

Difficult Biblical Passages for Jehovah’s Witnesses

1. 1 John 5:1 – Teaches that ALL who believe in Jesus are born again–not just a sub group (i.e., the “144,000”)

2. Isaiah 43:10 – Teaches that ‘no G/god was/will be created before or AFTER the one true God’ (contra their teaching that Jesus is “a god” created before creation).

3. Isaiah 6 in relationship to John 12, proving the deity of Christ. See Isaiah 6 on this web site.

4. James 1:27 – Pure and undefiled religion to visit orphans and widows. JWs completely neglect works of mercy, instead spending all of their organization’s resources on spreading their ideas.

Do You Feel Your Sins Cut You Off From God and All Hope of Change?

This is written for those who say:
“The things I have done and said weigh on my heart like a mountain of lead. This burdens me and keeps me from Christ. My sins cut me off from all hope of heaven. I am afraid that my past eagerness to relish my behavior has so twisted my mind, seared my conscience, and hardened my heart–that I will never be able to repent with any hope of pardon!”

But I answer you,
Is your sin greater than wicked King Manasseh’s, who “sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced witchcraft and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists”? (2 Kings 21:2-7)

Is your sin greater than Paul’s drinking up the blood of saints?
