His Healing Touch

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. Mark 1:40-41 KJV

I have hemorrhoids and I use baby wipes to try and prevent the itching and pain. However they haven’t made anything that can keep the attacks of satan and his followers with their criticism, sarcasm, hatred, unforgiveness and cruelty from wounding our hearts. I have received several emails over the last two years from people who told me that they were broken hearted over the things that had been said and done to them. Baby wipes won’t take this pain away; it takes the compassion of Jesus and His healing touch to restore our joy and happiness.

I’ve heard so many people say “God can’t use me. I don’t have any talent so there is nothing I can do for Him”. O dear people, don’t you realize that the greatest way you can serve Jesus is by spreading His love to others. You don’t have to preach, teach, write, sing or anything else to give His love away. All you have to do is to smile at people and hug them for Jesus. If you don’t feel comfortable enough to give them a hug, then hug them with your loving words and the kind things you do for them.

Of course if you don’t have the love of Jesus in your heart it will be impossible for you to love others for Him. However if you have made a heart commitment to Jesus then He lives in your heart and He will enable you to love for Him. We are not capable of loving others the way He wants us to love them because we weren’t born with unconditional love.

It is only after we have been saved; born again through the precious atoning blood of Jesus and allowed Him to take away all the bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness from our hearts that He is able to love through us. All of us should be more compassionate and understanding when people hurt us realizing that we hurt people also. If we want people to forgive us then we should be willing to forgive the ones who hurt us.

Whatever is hurting you today, be it physical or emotional, Jesus can heal you. He is the great Physician and He is full of compassion, tenderness, understanding, grace, mercy, kindness and love. Have you hugged someone for Jesus today? Jesus said “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40). When we are kind and loving to people, then we are kind and loving to Him. However when we are cruel and sarcastic to people, then we are cruel and sarcastic to Him. Are you being kind and loving to Jesus, or are you being cruel and sarcastic to Him?
