Peace in Times of Trouble

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come.

Peace in His Arms

As soon as I get into bed at night, I literally feel the arms of Jesus go around me and hold me close to His loving heart. When His arms of unconditional love go around me, I feel a peace, a joy, a happiness and a security that the world can’t give and the world can’t take away. He holds me all night long and when I get up in the morning, He is my constant companion. He never leaves me, not even for a minute and when I go to the store, He goes with me. There is no one like Jesus! No one loves us like Jesus loves us! He is a friend beyond compare and I love Him with all of my heart. My heart’s desire and the only reason I am living is to make Him happy.

Feeling Weak?

Psalm 34:8
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

It is easy to forget to feed ourselves spiritually. We get too “busy” to read our Bibles, pray, meditate or fellowship with others. As a result we start to starve and spiritual malnutrition sets in. This is when we are most susceptible to our addictions and dysfunctions. It is imperative for us, as recovering people, to feed ourselves on a daily, hourly or even momentary basis.

Codependency, Hardship and Stress – A Testimony

I just want to share how God has blessed me. The past few years have been difficult as I’ve been recovering from codependency. One of the hardest things I’ve struggled with has been anxiety, which reared its head as I started to let go of the codependent behaviour. I realized that there was so much fear underneath all the controlling I had been doing all those years. I was having panic attacks all the time. had to go on meds for it and depression too. I thought my life was coming to an end because of how bad I felt.

That’s why social events like Christmas were a nightmare. I was also reacting to my parents because I had a lot of rejection coming to the surface. I felt like a teenager around them because everything they did made me cringe.

Four Questions For Broken People

The ultimate measure of a person is not where one stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where one stands in times of challenge and controversy. ~Martin Luther King

Have you ever thought you were too weak to help?

It’s easy to imagine someone who’s better qualified, tempting to believe that your personal failures render you useless. We all want to conceal our dirty laundry, but followers of Christ must remember that we’re called to serve where we are and to offer ourselves in that service. We’re all gifted so we can offer those gifts in service to others.
