I think if we would be honest with ourselves, all of us could say that there are times in our lives when we get discouraged because of cruel, sarcastic and critical words that have been said to us. Our strength grows weak, our determination to keep going falters and we are tempted to say things and do things that a Christian should not say or do.
We sometimes lose confidence in ourselves and begin to believe the lies of satan; that Jesus doesn’t love us or care about us. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. Jesus does love us and He does care about us and He proved it by shedding His blood for our salvation on a cross of horror and agony. He can do no more to prove His love for us because He gave us His very life. There is no greater love than the love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:1-4 KJV
Jesus is faithful and we can trust Him for all things. What a blessing and comfort it is to know that He will never leave us, not even for a minute. Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithfulness to us and for dying for us so that we may be saved and spend eternity with You. Indeed, You are worthy to be praised, adored, worshiped, honored and respected. You are the beautiful Rose of Sharon and I love You with all of my heart. Thank You so much for loving me, Jesus.
I don’t know what trials and heartaches you are facing today but I know the one who can heal your broken homes, your broken heart and your broken lives. He is altogether lovely and faithful and His name is Jesus! If today you are hurting, sad, lonely, discouraged, depressed and have lost your determination to keep on, go to Jesus and let Him refresh your heart with His understanding, compassion, tenderness and unconditional love.
No matter how many times we fail Him, and we all fail Him at times, He still loves us and He will never ever stop loving us. Indeed, Jesus not only is our Saviour, He is our faithful friend and companion. The question all of us should ask ourselves is “Am I being faithful to Jesus in everything I do and say? When people look at me, do they know that I love Him by the things I say and the things that I do?” Shouldn’t we be faithful to Him after all that He has done for us?
