“I wish I was acceptable…”

Since thou wast precious in my sight… I have loved thee… Isaiah 43:4

Our eating awareness week continues with acceptability. Indeed, there is the pervasive lie out there which tells us how beauty equals acceptance.

And, certainly within our culture, we are inundated with more than enough evidence that this theory is “fact.” Look how we fawn over Hollywood, the fashion world and particular image aesthetics. We are convinced “the beautiful people” are more valuable, more relevant and definitely more accepted than anyone who is not fitting that criteria.

And so, we come away with an array of negative self-esteem and self-image concepts. We believe we are unacceptable, at least, until we are an emaciated classification of “thin.”

We possess a wounded spirit.

…a wounded spirit who can bear? Proverbs 18:14

Yet, the Most High takes a different view of us…

I have chosen you and have not cast you away. Isaiah 41:9

There are no conditions. It is. We are already accepted.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6

The question remains, however: do WE accept that as Truth for ourselves?

Let’s challenges ourselves, right now, to answer that question in a different way. Let’s accept the Divine response!
