Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:24
People email us and tell us that they are praying every day, seeking God’s will for their marriage, reading all the articles on the ministry, going to church, and yet nothing changes in their marriage. Some of these people become very discouraged because they want to see positive change in their spouse and marriage. Where are the blessings?
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy! Ecclesiastes 2:26
Wisdom, knowledge and joy are blessings given to us when we live our lives to please God and not ourselves. Do you have Godly wisdom, knowledge and joy in your life?
There are several reasons why we do not see blessings in our life and marriage. You see, we are not on our own time schedule; we are on Gods time schedule, meaning, no matter how often, or how much you
pray, you will not see changes until God is ready to make those changes. And…when changes do happen they may not even be how you want, and so you may not think that Jesus Christ is even working in your life.
God, through His Son Jesus Christ does work in our lives but lot of the time we just don’t know it. We’re so busy with our own lives and heavy laden emotions, that we do not see anything changing for the better. Well, that’s the problem; we’re looking for positive change when that may not be what kind of change we’re going to see. In fact, situations and events in our marriage might get worse before they get better.
God is not a magician so do not expect magical change in your marriage. Some people think God holds the magic wand to their future and all they have to do is “go to church”, tithe, get baptized, and be do-gooders. WRONG again!
This kind of thinking is in error. And sadly, most people believe this way. If you want to see blessings in your life and marriage it has nothing to do with “going to church” tithing money, being baptized, and helping others. This is something told to us by “feel good” ministries and church overseers. These things are formalities and for appearances sake. There is nothing wrong in doing those things for yourself but God wants your heart!
Sometimes people have to go through a great deal of suffering before they can sincerely and faithfully go to GOD with their life troubles. It is like the alcoholic who must “bottom out” before he or she finally realizes they have a drinking problem. Sometimes the alcoholic has to lose children or spouse before he “sees” the light and comes out from addiction denial.
Denial keeps the Christian separated from God as well. Denial keeps the Christian in the dark too. John 12:46 declares: I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Going to church, tithing, and getting baptized does not let God see that you believe in Him! God wants your heart, your sincerity, your faithfulness!!
We have to TRUST that what God says for our life is TRUE! Jesus Christ wants you to see Him — and Know and BELIEVE that He is the Light of the world!
Sincerity, Faith and trust are the keys to having a great relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And making God number one in your life.
It’s strange how most professed Christians (the majority of people on this planet) are on a pedestal while they put their Savior Christ on the left burner. And then they wonder why they do not see blessings in their lives.
All you have to do is look at the moral rot and depravity of society to see how people are putting their own desires and self-seeking pleasures above Jesus Christ! Do not be deceived thinking that you live in a Christian nation. You live in a nation that PROCLAIMS Christianity but the majority do not follow or live the Christian principles and philosophy given to them by God!!!
In Fact, scripture clearly says, Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:4
But don’t you see, the moral rot and depravity of this world is a direct cause of people respecting the proud and turning aside to lies — lies and deceptions that come from the world! People are more concerned with who is going to be elected the next governor or president than their relationship with Jesus Christ!
People’s lives are so wrapped up with the world and its politics that they simply have no time or trust for God. We see this every day! Wow, do we really think we are so special that we can actually stand on Gods podium?
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Galatians 6:3
When we put ourselves above God we also get our priorities confused. We only pray when we have time, meaning, our job, our needs, our wants, our children, all come before God. What happens is we put God on the left burner, sometimes He is not even on the burner at all, and then we think all we have to do is go to church and pray, and tithe and everything is going to be ok. Boy, are we mistaken!
We want to be “seen” as righteous, to be praised and honored by others, but our lives and how we live does not show God anything. In fact, we still have not given God our lives because we are too busy trusting in the lies of the world! And then we wonder why our lives do not change for the better?
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5:44
When priorities are not in order and then we pray for change, nothing is going to happen. God helps those who make Him first. We owe Him our life and yet, most of us place HIM last in our life. Where is our faith!!!
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Patience is a virtue. I’m sure you heard that before. Sometimes we become so impatient that we don’t pray with sincerity. We’re expecting too much from God; we’re expecting Him to work a certain way in our life and our expectations are quite haughty and self-righteous.
Why do we expect so much from God? We may think all we have to do is recite a few prayers or give to the needy and our life is going to change for the better. Nope! It does not work like that.
Some people pray and pray and pray but they do not pray sincerely. We pray only when we need something and we pray selfishly. We pray for what we want, not what Gods will is to be. This is where most people error when praying and when seeking God. Not only that, but many do not acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ when they pray or even in testimony.
Ephesians 6:24 declares, Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Where is the sincerity, where is the love for our Savior?
Let’s sum up the many ways in which we error in our Christian walk. Look at the list and find the areas where you may be walking in error, and diligently work to improve your walk in Jesus Christ.
Remember: as Christ-ones our walk is not to follow the lies and deception that comes from the world but to follow the Truth and Wisdom that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Do not be deceived any longer! Find your way home!
Why We Do Not See Blessings in our Marriage and Life
-
1. We expect to see change on our time schedule
2. Seeking changes the way we want (our will)
3. We think “going to church” is pleasing to God
4. Believing in what “feel good” ministries say about the Christian walk
5. Thinking God / Christ is a magician
6. Putting ourselves on a pedestal
7. Not putting God first in our life
8. We don’t pray with sincerity
9. We only pray when we want, in church, or when we think we have time
10. We expect from God
11. We pray selfishly –only for our needs to get met
12. We Are NOT putting our faith and trust with God
The bottom line? We are not loving God with all of our heart, mind and soul. Churchy formalities for appearance sake is not “giving our life to God”. We must come out from the lies that are manifested within the world and begin to live our lives for the Truth.
Mark 12:30 reads – And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Now, let’s put it to work in our lives!
Ephesians 6:24 declares, Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
