Healing Your Body after Addiction

When the addiction stops and the body starts to heal, there is the underlying issue of what has the addiction cost? Everybody is familiar with the exercise where you put down on paper how much financial wreckage there is that you have to deal with, but I am not talking about that.

This is a discussion about the wreckage of your body. That’s right the wreckage of you. Skin care and skin health have usually been compromised to the point where many people have scars and other telltale signs that remind them of how bad it really was.

You exposed your body to harmful toxins through using drugs. You exposed your skin to stressful conditions from not taking time to do simple things like wash your face on a regular basis or even brush your teeth. Now is the time to start to practice the principles of recovery in another dynamic part of your life, your skin.

Skin care begins with using good skin care products and taking the time to practice good hygiene every day. The body can spring back from some pretty strong and stressful situations if you help it to do so. here are some good tips to follow in order to help your healthy skin care program of recovery.

  • Always wash your hands when you get home.
    It might not sound like such a big deal but washing your hands as soon as possible when you get home from work help minimize the toxins and germs that you picked up outside. The last thing you need is to add more dirt to the situation. Washing your hand will make a difference. Rinsing is not good enough. Wash them with a good soap each time you come home.

  • Brush your teeth.
    Set aside time to brush your teeth after you eat and before going to bed. That age-old dental advise about brushing after every meal takes on a whole new meaning when you get clean and sober.

  • Use a good skin care cream
    A good quality skin care cream will begin to rejuvenate your skin. you can help your skin to recover along with your spirit and in all of your social interactions.

When you can look in the mirror and begin to see a change in your appearance your are more willing to do what is necessary to stay healthy. This is just a beginning. More shall be revealed about skin care, aging and other health related subjects
