Smoking rates fall among young people - but more have taken drugs, figures reveal

Almost a quarter of surveyed pupils said they had used drugs at least once, while around one in five had smoked tobacco, according to a report by NHS Digital covering 2016. The number of pupils reporting drug-taking rose from 15% in 2014 to 24% in 2016, which NHS Digital said may partly be fuelled by the addition of new questions about nitrous oxide and new psychoactive substances, formerly known as legal highs.

Smoking rate of South Korean men down in 2016

Piala Inc., a Tokyo marketing firm, started offing six more days of vacation to non-puffing employees in September, saying it would make up for all those smoking breaks taken by their colleagues.

New Jersey's Legal Smoking Age Rises to 21

Starting today, November 1st, New Jersey teens are no longer able to legally purchase and smoke tobacco products in the Garden State - including e-cigarettes. Gov. Chris Christie signed a bill in July that increased the state's legal smoking age from 19 to 21 years old, with no grandfathering provision for current 19- and 20-year-old smokers.
