Are You Suffering Right Now?

Exodus 3:7: “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard their crying out because of all their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.”

“The doctor said my knee is as good as it’s going to get. Nothing more can be done.” Mary was asking for prayer and God’s wisdom.

I sensed her pain and discouragement. As a young mother with children, she didn’t want to think of a life of suffering with physical limitations and using crutches the rest of her life. She wanted to explore other options and didn’t want to accept the doctor’s diagnosis.

As I read Exodus 3:7 this morning. I thought of Mary and others in similar circumstances. God has “indeed seen the misery of [Mary and others like her].” God has “heard their crying out… and [is] concerned about their suffering.”

Perhaps you feel broken with physical problems, family conflict, a legal case, financial struggles, or a family loss. God has seen your misery. He has heard your crying out, and he is concerned about your suffering.

God loves you, and nothing is too difficult for him (Jer. 32:17). You can trust him to help you. He will guide you in moving from broken to beautiful.

Dear God, I feel scared, sad, and helpless about my situation. Please take care of me. Amen.

Application: How will you show you trust God this week to move you from broken to beautiful?
