Are You Past or Future Oriented?

Living life is like driving a car: if you spend all your time looking in the rearview mirror, you’ll run right off the road. The comparative size of the windshield and the rearview mirror shows you that the relative importance of what’s in front of you, compared to what’s behind you is about a 90 to 1 ratio.

Christians are to be future oriented and not past oriented. A past orientation is idolatrous: it is premised on the false notion that total control by man is possible and it denies total control by God.
