We Are Never Alone

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5 King James Version

Ludie Carrington Day Pickett who was a college professor at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky wrote a beautiful song “Never Alone” that gives us hope in the midst of life’s storms. I believe that she penned these words from the depths of her heart. The comforting words in the song fill my heart with gratitude and encouragement.

“When in affliction’s valley I tread the road of care, My Savior helps me carry the cross so heavy to bear; Though all around me is darkness, earthly joy all flown; My Savior whispers his promise, never to leave me alone!” What a comfort it is to our weary battle scarred hearts to know that Jesus will never leave us.

Have you ever had a day that started off with everything going wonderful when all of a sudden satan hurled so many poisonous darts at you that you felt like you were going under for the last time? Your laughter turned to tears and you felt all alone. All hell can come against us but we have the promise that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the assurance that we are never alone. Thank You for sending Your beloved Son to not only be our Saviour, but also to be our comforter and encourager. Thank You, Jesus, for never leaving us alone. Without You, I am powerless. I need You, precious Saviour and I love You with all of my heart. Please forgive me for hurting You and failing You. Amen.
