Our Rock of Love

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation,
and my high tower.
I will call upon the Lord,
who is worthy to be praised:
so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Psalm 18:1-3 King James Version

Not only is Jesus our strength, our rock, our fortress, our deliverer, our strength, our buckler, the horn of our salvation and our high tower; He is also our rock of love. When our families and friends leave us, we have the assurance in our hearts that Jesus is our rock of love. He is faithful and dependable and He will never leave us even in the midst of crises or difficult situations.

Has someone who you thought was your best friend turned his or her back on you and stopped being your friend? Don’t despair, Jesus is still with you. He is more than able to carry you through this time of heartache and sorrow. He will pick you up in His compassionate and loving arms. He will hold you close to His loving heart and carry you until your tears stop flowing. He will tenderly dry the tears from your eyes and from your heart with His gentle kisses.

What a Saviour! What a friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! There is no one like Jesus. No one loves us like He loves us. We know that He loves us because He proved His love for us when He allowed them to crucify Him on the old rugged cross. The question we must ask ourselves is “Do I love Jesus and if I do, what am I doing to prove that I love Him?” Remember, the level of our service to Jesus depends on our level of love for Him. How much do you love Him and what are you doing to prove that you love Him?
