God’s Printer

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Revelation 20:12 King James Version

Imagine that God has a printer sitting on a big desk and at the end of every day He prints out a sheet of paper for every person in the world. On one side of the paper, He lists all of the kind things we have done and all of the kind and loving words we have said to people. On the other side of the paper, He lists all of the unkind things we have done and all of the criticizing remarks and unkind words we have said to people.

I wonder what side of the paper we would be on at the end of the day? For us to be on the side of the paper that brings joy to the heart of Jesus and lists all of the kind and loving things and words we have done and said to people, we must allow Him to constantly search our hearts and remove the things that bring shame and disgrace to Him. There are many times we allow satan to put resentment, bitterness, jealousy, hatred, criticism, sarcasm and unforgiveness in our hearts and we hurt Jesus and bring shame to His name.

When God prints out your sheet of paper at the end of the day, what side of the paper will you be on? Will you be on the side that makes Him happy or will you be on the side that hurts Him and brings disgrace to His name and makes Him sad? One day we will be judged out of the book of life. Will you be able to look Him in the eye or will you have to hang your head in shame because of the unkind words you said to people and the unkind things you did to people?
