It Will Happen

“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Luke 22:31-32 King James Version

I wonder how many times we are on the mountain tops of joy, peace and happiness when all of a sudden our enemy, satan, hurls his poisonous barbs of criticism, sarcasm, and judgment at us and once again we are back down in the valley of doubts and discouragement. We need to be aware of the sneaky tactics of satan because he will do his best to discourage us. It will happen time after time because satan won’t give up.

I receive a lot of emails telling me how wonderful my devotions are and how I am helping people. I am very appreciative of those emails because all of us need encouragement. However, we need to understand that no one is perfect. All of us fail God but the good news is that Jesus is praying for us just as He prayed for Simon. I fail Him just as you fail Him. I am so glad that our precious Saviour is interceding for us.

We read in the Bible “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6: 10 – 13).

The Bible clearly tells us that we can’t stand unless we put on the whole armour of God. We need to put it on before we even get out of bed because it only takes satan one minute to attack us with doubts, lies, deception and discouragement. Have you put on the whole armour of God today? It is never God’s fault if we have a bad day. He has already equipped us with all that we need to stand against the wiles of the devil. It makes satan very happy if he can discourage us so much that we are tempted to stop serving Jesus. Don’t let that happen to you! Put on the whole armour of God as soon as you open your eyes in the morning and before you get out of bed. You will not only lead a more peaceful and joyful life, you will make Jesus happy.
