Fresh Annointing of Determination

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." Isaiah 10:27 KJV

There are times when we need a fresh anointing of unconditional love, understanding, mercy, grace and compassion from our precious Saviour and our dear Heavenly Father. Sometimes due to difficult circumstances, crises, heartaches and problems that we encounter in our daily lives we become discouraged and feel like giving up. It is then that we need Jesus to put His arms of unconditional love and understanding around us and give us a fresh anointing of encouragement and determination.

Have you ever felt that you were in bondage to someone or to something? There are people who are in bondage to drugs, alcohol, sex and other things that hurt Jesus and bring disgrace to His name. It is not a very good feeling to be in bondage to someone or to something. If we haven’t surrendered our lives, our time and everything that we have to Jesus, then we are still in bondage to satan. There is no middle ground. We are either serving Jesus or we are serving satan. It is only as we give our lives, our time and all that we have to Jesus that the yoke is destroyed and broken.

I remember how terrible I felt before I gave Jesus my life and all of my time. Oh, I had given Him my heart on August 14, 1980 and asked Him to forgive me and be my personal Saviour but I never surrendered my will, my time and my entire life to Him until January 24, 2005. Since I dedicated my life to Him in full time service, I have a peace, a joy and a happiness that I never had before. It is a peace that the world can’t give me and the world can’t take it from me.

I have received several emails over the last two years from people who have told me that they were discouraged and felt like giving up and letting someone else serve Jesus in their place. I think if we are honest with ourselves, many of us have felt the same way because of being criticized, ridiculed and judged. When we are constantly criticized, it begins to weaken our determination to keep serving Jesus.

We need to remember that Jesus also was criticized, ridiculed and judged but He never gave up. The tragedy of it is that He is still being criticized, ridiculed and judged today by many people. Thank God that He never gave up when He was here on earth and that He went to the old rugged cross for you and for me. There He shed His blood for our sins so that we may be forgiven and live with Him for all eternity in Heaven. There is no greater love than the love of our dear Heavenly Father and our precious Saviour.

If today, you feel that you can’t give another smile or take another step, ask Jesus to give you a fresh anointing of His compassion, understanding and unconditional love. He will be faithful to comfort and encourage you and to give you a renewed determination to serve Him no matter how many obstacles you encounter. He will softly whisper in your ear "I love you and I will never leave you" as He gently leans over and kisses the tears from your eyes. What a precious Saviour; what a precious friend, this Jesus of Nazareth!
