Topic Suggestions for Meetings
At the beginning of the meeting ask those attending if there is anything on their mind or that they would like to discuss with their fellow Christians in recovery. If no one responds suggest a topic. Think up something that YOU would like to discuss. Below are some suggestions. You do not have to stick with these topics. These are only suggestions!
Use theses as a springboard for discussion:
CIR Workbook & Meeting Guide
CIR Devotional Journal
Daily Recovery Thought, Scripture & Prayer as a springboard for discussion.
The 12 Steps
Select a favorite scripture and discuss that.
One on One with Newbies
At times you may find yourself in a one-on-one situation (you and one newcomer alone in the chat room). Remember that some people are not Christians, or may have little knowledge of the Bible. Do not launch in immediately with Christian words and concepts, and lots of Bible quotes. Start from where they are spiritually and not where you are. Pray asking God for guidance
Missing Meeting Host?
If a Host and/or Co-host do not show up to lead a scheduled meeting, it is up to those in attendance to take ownership and select someone among yourselves to lead the meeting. Do not be intimidated if you are selected. The meeting host is not a know-it-all. They are just there to make sure the meeting starts and ends on time and to ensure everyone stays on topic.
Please Contact Us if your host and/or co-host do not show up so we can find out what the problem is and see to it that there is a host for the next meeting.
Meeting Host Information
Please do not be intimidated by the amount of information here. You do not have to memorize it. Print it out and keep it for future reference. Read this entire page. With the privilege of becoming a meeting host comes the responsibility to read, understand and apply these guidelines.
