Feel free to use the chat rooms in between meetings. It is helpful to log into the chat room LOBBY and remain logged in.
You can go off and do your normal surfing or use the CIR Message Boards while you are waiting for another member to show up.
When someone else comes into the chat room, you will hear a door bell. Return to the chat room and start talking with them.
Make sure your settings in the chat room are correct.
Under "Options"
select "Sound On Enter"
then select: "Doorbell"

Get to a Meeting
If you want to remain clean and sober, I suggest that you get to a meeting, and frequently.
Early in my recovery, there was one thing that I did tire of – the act of defending myself. I was so occupied with convincing others that I was not using, it seemed certain that I was. So, in the hopes of eliminating that annoyance, I started going to meetings. I chose to do doing something that came highly recommended – I began to just listen. I'm not saying that you shouldn't share, but in the beginning just sit quietly and pay attention. The first couple of meetings may surprise you. With the exception of one or two, the people around you look normal, healthy, content, satisfied, and to some degree – successful. They do not look like winos, drunkards, junkies, or residents of skid row.

Topic Suggestions for Meetings
At the beginning of the meeting ask those attending if there is anything on their mind or that they would like to discuss with their fellow Christians in recovery. If no one responds suggest a topic. Think up something that YOU would like to discuss. Below are some suggestions. You do not have to stick with these topics. These are only suggestions!
Use theses as a springboard for discussion:
CIR Workbook & Meeting Guide
CIR Devotional Journal
Daily Recovery Thought, Scripture & Prayer as a springboard for discussion.
The 12 Steps
Select a favorite scripture and discuss that.
One on One with Newbies
At times you may find yourself in a one-on-one situation (you and one newcomer alone in the chat room). Remember that some people are not Christians, or may have little knowledge of the Bible. Do not launch in immediately with Christian words and concepts, and lots of Bible quotes. Start from where they are spiritually and not where you are. Pray asking God for guidance
Missing Meeting Host?
If a Host and/or Co-host do not show up to lead a scheduled meeting, it is up to those in attendance to take ownership and select someone among yourselves to lead the meeting. Do not be intimidated if you are selected. The meeting host is not a know-it-all. They are just there to make sure the meeting starts and ends on time and to ensure everyone stays on topic.
Please Contact Us if your host and/or co-host do not show up so we can find out what the problem is and see to it that there is a host for the next meeting.
