Bacolod cracks down on anti-smoking violators

A total of 290 persons and business establishments have been fined, as of September 22, for violating this city's anti-smoking ordinance, records of the Bacolod City Anti-Smoking Task Force -Action Team showed. Councilor Caesar Distrito, author of the Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance of Bacolod and task force co-chairman, said majority of the violators were found at the plaza and downtown.

URI receives grant to ban smoking and tobacco use on campus

The university received a $20,000 grant from the American Cancer Society and CVS Health Foundation to develop policies to prohibit smoking and tobacco use.
