All of us have times in our lives when we grow weary because of difficult situations and all of the struggles and conflicts of our lives. We need Jesus to renew our enthusiasm and our energy. We can depend on Him to restore our determination, our strength, our joy and our enthusiasm with His tender touch of compassionate love. Our Saviour really cares about us and He longs to see us happy. He is waiting for us to come to Him so that He can once again tell us how much He loves us and how precious we are to Him. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us.
The following are unsolicited, direct quotes from real people who have been ministered to by CIR. Though Jesus Christ, CIR impacts lives, saves lives and changes lives.
Thank you for the many many resources that have helped to benefit me greatly during a long period of recurring losses and depression. I know without a doubt that God led me to the CIR website, and the benefits received during my long membership will continue to be an invaluable gift of healing for myself, and others with whom I can share my uncovered strength and wisdom. Thank you CIR! ~Dolores
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
"And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."
Matthew 7:24-27 speaks to everyone who is in recovery. At one time or another, we all have built our houses on sand. That sand could be alcohol, riches, drugs, sex, food, another person, gambling, anger, abuse, depression, the list is endless. And just like sand, these God-substitutes slip through our fingers, leaving no trace as we desperately grasp at them looking for something firm to cling to. None of these sand-gods provide a firm foundation. Only God Almighty provides a foundation that is unshakable. No matter how bad things get, God is always there. He never fails. Yes, at times we may feel He is distant, but that is a FEELING. The reality is that He is always present and He holds you firmly in His grip, if you let Him.
Never again will I confess, "I can't"
For I can do all things through Christ which Strengtheneth me Philippians 4:13
Never again will I confess lack, for
My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory
by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Never again will I confess fear, for
God has not given us the spirit of fear,
but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Never again will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for
God hath given to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3
Never again shall I confess weakness, for
The Three Graces are known in both Greek and Roman mythology as the muses of poetry, music and of course, art.
Lately, I've gained an intense appreciation for their numerous depictions in sculpture and on canvas.
I've been working on an article concerning body image; therefore, I've researched how beauty definitions have changed over time. This, inevitably, brought me to “The Three Graces.".
Centuries ago, the Rubenesque body shape, defined as a voluptuous female figure, was desirable.
In the 1600's, artist Sir Peter Paul Rubens was inspired by this fuller figure in his 1635 work, The Three Graces.
I asked God for strength that I might achieve
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey...
I asked for health that I might do greater things
I was given infirmity that I might do better things...
I asked for riches that I might be happy
I was given poverty that I might be wise...
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life
I was given life that I might enjoy all things...
I got nothing I asked for
I got all things I hoped for...
Despite myself my prayers were answered
I among all people are most richly blessed...
Prayer of an unknown Civil War soldier
My children, I am the Creator of ALL, and ALL power originates with ME!
There is no power in heaven or on earth that is able to thwart My purposes for your life as you yield to Me. NONE!
Have I not promised that as you seek Me, you will find Me, when you seek Me with all of your heart? Have I not said to ask, and you will receive? Ask then, and let your hearts run wild and your imagination run vagabond, for you cannot plumb the depths of My planning and provision for My own.
Abba...I sense many heavy hearts today. Hearts that are burdened and weighed down by what they are seeing and experiencing.
For some, it seems as if the world is closing in on them and coming against them at every turn. Nothing they are trying to do turns out well and some are even wondering in their hearts where You are in all of this. They are battling discouragement as they walk in the way they believe You have sent them. They are trying to minister to others with seemingly no to little success. They are being faithful, yet wondering if You might actually have abandoned them. They so need Your reassurance and a sense of Your Presence.

This is easily the longest article I’ve ever written. Check out the next few sentences and you’ll see why.
A while back someone asked me to define my “life verse.”
I suppose if I HAD to choose a single passage I’d pick Romans 8:28.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
