This is some security camera footage from a gas station where a badass refuses to extinguish his cigarette, so a gas station attendant extinguishes it for him . Who smokes at a gas pump anyways? When I'm pumping gas I don't want to smell anything but the gasoline.

City bans smoking in multi-family housing

In an effort to curb the effects of smoking in multi-unit residences, the Redwood City Council voted Monday to ban smoking in and around apartment buildings, condominiums and duplexes. Though smoking will be allowed in enclosed, designated areas at least 25 feet away from gyms and areas primarily used by children, councilmembers voted unanimously for an all-encompassing ordinance, including duplexes and condominiums among the buildings subject to the ban at their Monday meeting.

Health experts urge smokers across Lancashire to quit smoking

Residents caught dropping cigarettes will be issued with a fine - but provided they live in Bexley they will be offered a 50 per cent discount if they can complete the council's Stop Smoking programme. Councillor Peter Craske, cabinet member for community safety, environment and leisure, said: "If a smoker quits, they will benefit in three ways: through an improvement in their health, by eliminating the risk of a further fine for cigarette related littering and the 50 per cent refund of their fine."

Cigarette makers to publish new statements on health risks

19,000 tickets issued last year for smoking at prohibited areas: NEA

SINGAPORE: About 19,000 tickets were issued last year to offenders caught smoking at prohibited areas, and of this number, more than 2,600 were for smoking in food establishments, Senior Minister of State for the Environment and Water Resources Amy Khor said on Tuesday . Replying to a parliamentary question filed by Jalan Besar GRC Member of Parliament Denise Phua, Dr Khor said her ministry's long-term goal is to prohibit smoking in all public places, except at designated areas.

Millions of cigarette smokers could live substantially longer if electronic cigarettes are embraced as a replacement for tobacco during the next decade, a new study contends. As many as 6.6 million cigarette smokers could live a combined 86.7 million more years under policies that encourage them to swap their smokes for e-cigarettes, according to "optimistic" projections from cancer researchers at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Under a "pessimistic" projection, 1.6 million former cigarette smokers would have a combined 20.8 million more years of additional life, the research team found.

Study estimates years of life that could be saved in US if smokers switched to e-cigarettes

A research team, led by Dr David Levy at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC, modelled the impact for public health if large numbers of cigarette smokers switched to e-cigarettes under two scenarios - an Optimistic Scenario where smoking prevalence falls to 5% over a ten year period and a Pessimistic Scenario where it falls to 10%. For the Optimistic Scenario, the researchers presumed similar patterns of e-cigarette use to now and used published evaluations of likely harm reductions.
