A woman was escorted out of Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday after she refused to extinguish her cigarette in front of a police officer. After taking one more drag she holds the cigarette up in front of him before he takes out his handcuffs and attempts to take her into custody.

Smoking rate in Korea rebounds in 2016 despite price hike

The smoking rate in South Korea rebounded last year, data showed Monday, despite the government's effort to lower the rate with a hike in cigarette prices starting 2015. According to the data compiled by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 23.9 percent of South Koreans aged 19 and above smoked in 2016, up 1.3 percentage points from 22.6 percent posted a year earlier.

Smoking rates fall among young people - but more have taken drugs, figures reveal

The number of pupils reporting drug-taking rose from 15% in 2014 to 24% in 2016, which NHS Digital said may partly be fuelled by the addition of new questions about nitrous oxide and new psychoactive substances, formerly known as legal highs.

Would you kick your smoking habit for six extra vacation days?

Using a dangling carrot of extra days off for non-smoking employees is an "innovative" way to encourage those still using cigarette sticks to kick the habit, says a senior policy analyst with the Canadian Cancer Society. Piala Inc., a Tokyo marketing firm, started offing six more days of vacation to non-puffing employees in September, saying it would make up for all those smoking breaks taken by their colleagues.
