Homeless people on Cambridge's streets are earning more than 150 a day

Kiel Frank, 33, lived as a homeless person in the city for six months, where he says he was earning "a lot". He says that he didn't know what to do with the money, so used it to fund his alcohol addiction.

Ryan West opened North Wasatch Recovery in the former St. Mary's church about a year ago in order to provide continuous care aimed at helping people recover and reintegrate into society, the Standard-Examiner reported .

Upscale rehab center Swift River to offer more beds, accept MassHealth

An addiction treatment center that opened last fall with a license for 48 beds got a green light from the state last month to make 112 beds available. Swift River, a high-end drug and alcohol treatment campus surrounded by woods, is also about to start accepting MassHealth, the state's Medicaid insurance.

Less than 1 per cent of all presentations to Timaru Hospital's Emergency Department are due to alcohol use, new figures reveal - but 18-to-24-year olds are more than twice as likely as any other age group to have alcohol as a factor in their visit.
